This series represents the longest running project I have put together to date. I began the first drawing on the 20th of May, and finished the last* drawing on the 12th of August 2012. There were countless curses, and errors, and times when I wondered why I ever thought I could do this, so I can't honestly say that I enjoyed every minute of it. I can say, though, that all the moments of doubt and disaster were worth it. The curses became exaultations, the mistakes were corrected, and now, whenever I doubt my ability or dedication, I can look at these drawings and reassure myself. It takes time and effort, you'll love it, you'll hate it, but it's all worth it at the end.

*I sincerely hope this is not the end of the series. There are so many more wonderful, inspiring riders out on the grids today, and I'm sure over the next few years we'll see many more join the ranks. So this project isn't so much ended; it's just paused. There could well be more, but not for a while.
